Brief Biography: : I am an Associate Professor of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Social Work at William Paterson University, where I am committed to representing the interests of faculty and ensuring student success. My research examines how social inequalities contribute to political discourse and participation, with a focus on gender, race, class, and the shaping roles of institutions such as the media, military, and family. My teaching, grounded in liberation theory, empowers students to become active agents of social change. I have held significant roles in our Faculty Senate, including serving on the Senate Executive Committee and three terms as Senate Chair. I collaborate with non-profits and academic organizations, offering consultation on a wide range of issues, including diversity, equity, publicity, and crisis management. I am active in the labor movement, grassroots political organizations, and, most recently, worked on Mikie Sherrill’s campaign for governor in New Jersey.
